The Challenge

Modular skids house highly sensitive metering instrumentation within tight, high-vibration structural environments. The design challenge was to ensure that the structural frame could safely withstand transit, lifting, and operational fluid forces without transferring deflections or dynamic stresses into the precise custody-transfer meters.

Our Technical Execution

We utilized a rigorous multi-discipline workflow: STAAD.Pro for global structural skid steel framing analysis, and Tekla for generating millimeter-accurate connection fabrication details. Concurrently, the complex internal pipe routing was modeled in AutoCAD Plant 3D, while AutoPIPE executed detailed stress and flexibility analyses to isolate the metering instruments from dynamic piping forces.

The Outcome

Delivered a plug-and-play, completely optimized modular skid structure. The design guaranteed zero stress transfer to sensitive instruments, reducing calibration drift risks and ensuring structural safety from shipyard to final onshore tie-in.
